With the intensification of global energy crisis and the gradual exhaustion of conventional crude oil production, the exploitation of nonconventional crude oil like heavy or extra heavy crude oil is being ranked as a major project worldwide. Heavy oil accounts for more than half of the recoverable oil resources all over the world. However, a difficult issue arises during recovery and transportation of heavy oil ascribing to its high viscosity.
At CleanScript, a novel technology in the field of long distance pipeline transportation is now being developed. This technology works best at high pressure and low temperature, thereby solving the problems associated with high temperature drop in subsea operations. When compared with other viscosity-reducing technologies like heating, addition of drag reducing additives, oil in water emulsion, etc.; this technology has many merits such as energy conserving, environment protecting, ecological efficiency outstanding, etc. With this technology, the frequency of pigging and associated costs would reduce considerably and the need for pipe insulation and its associated costs would be very minimal.
We are also developing novel techniques for optimal heavy and extra heavy oil recovery which are more efficient than the conventional thermal and chemical flooding.
CleanScript also specializes in core flooding, experimental studies using lab-on-a-chip and in developing automated codes for thresholding and extracting the fluid distribution in sequence of still images of packed beds of micron-scale grains.
We conduct Industry focused Oil & Gas courses including Flow assurance, Enhanced Oil Recovery technologies, Facilities Engineering, Energy Technologies, Oil and Gas Project Management and Oil and Gas Chemistry.
